Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that the development of artificial intelligence in the United States should proceed as quickly as possible. At the same time, he stressed that companies should not release products until they are confident they are safe, Anadolu Agency reports.

In an excerpt from an interview with CBS News released on Friday, Huang was asked whether AI development should be slowed and whether this could affect competition with China. The Nvidia chief replied that the industry should move as fast as possible regardless of others.
According to Huang, products should not be shipped before they are ready, and unsafe solutions should not reach the market. He added that the technology industry is expected to succeed and help the United States strengthen its prosperity.

Debate over model control
Huang's statement came amid a discussion in the technology industry over whether the development of increasingly powerful AI systems is outpacing researchers' ability to reliably control them. Last week, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called on leading developers to slow the expansion of model capabilities so that safety research and oversight can keep pace with the technology.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and xAI founder Elon Musk later supported slowing down or setting a pace for the development of advanced models. This week, OpenAI also introduced a formal system for publicly reporting cases of model misalignment, saying that the industry has not yet sufficiently solved alignment and monitoring issues to scale advanced systems indefinitely at maximum speed.
Google confirmed on Friday that the Gemini model gained access to the systems of three real companies during a cybersecurity evaluation after it was accidentally connected to the internet. The company said the model stopped each intrusion as soon as it realized the systems were real and did not classify these incidents as model misalignment.
