Finnish company Oura has unveiled an updated smart ring
The Finnish company Oura has unveiled its new smart ring, the Ring 5, which is significantly more compact than the previous version and features updated sensors for more accurate health tracking. The manufacturer promises improved measurement accuracy and expanded body monitoring capabilities. This was reported by GSM Arena.
Finnish company Oura has unveiled a new version of its smart ring—the Ring 5—and the main change is immediately noticeable: the device is about 40% smaller than the previous model, so it now looks even more discreet and is lighter for everyday wear. The developers prioritized compactness and comfort without sacrificing functionality.
According to GSM Arena, the new ring is just over 6 mm wide and 2.3 mm thick, made of titanium, and features a more streamlined body shape to fit the finger better and not get in the way during daily use. The device is available in various sizes—from 16.5 mm to 22.5 mm—and features IP68-rated dust and water resistance, allowing it to be used in various conditions without unnecessary restrictions.

Inside, the Ring 5 has also received an internal upgrade—the company has installed new sensors with more powerful LEDs, which are designed to read biometric data more accurately and work better with different skin tones and finger types. According to the manufacturer, this allows for more stable and accurate data when worn continuously.
The features include familiar capabilities—heart rate and blood oxygen level measurement, sleep tracking, and stress level monitoring—but they’ve added a new system called “Health Radar,” which analyzes key body metrics in real time and can detect changes in the user’s health. It also now monitors blood pressure signals during sleep and provides nightly breathing reports, which will be available through the Oura app in several countries.

According to the company, the device’s battery life ranges from 6 to 9 days depending on usage, and a full charge takes approximately 80 minutes. As for pricing, the basic silver and black versions of the Ring 5 start at $399, while the gold version is priced at $499, making the new device a premium gadget in the wearable health tech segment.
