Google has added new learning tools to Search and Gemini
Google has announced new learning tools for Search and Gemini. These include interactive visualizations, 3D simulations, personalized practice tests, the ability to create educational materials from uploaded files, and a dedicated learning hub within the Gemini app, according to TechCrunch.
In Search, users can create interactive explanations and simulations to explore complex topics. For example, a query about the pH scale can display an interactive visualization with basic explanations in AI Overview. If a user asks a follow-up question in AI Mode, the service can generate interactive content for a specific task—such as showing the pH levels of citrus fruits.
Search can also generate personalized interactive quizzes in science, math, the humanities, foreign languages, and other subjects. For example, a user can ask to create a quiz featuring vocabulary most commonly tested on the SAT.
In the coming weeks, Google plans to roll out an interactive mode in Lens within Search to help users solve problems. Users will be able to tap the Lens camera icon in the Google app and upload a photo of the material. The AI will explain the topic, identify possible mistakes, and provide hints if the user doesn’t know how to proceed.

In addition, Search can create study materials based on uploaded PDFs, documents, presentations, and other resources. For example, a user can add photos of handwritten notes and lecture slides to get a one-page summary of key concepts.
For Gemini, Google is launching a multi-step research report feature in Gemini Live. After a request is made, the service will be able to work on the research in the background and send a notification when the report is ready. Afterward, users can discuss the results via voice and ask follow-up questions.
Gemini will also be able to create interactive 3D simulations, tables, and grids based on user requests. For example, when asked about DNA, users will be able to rotate and zoom in on a three-dimensional model of the molecule. A dedicated learning hub within the Gemini app will bring together tools for creating study notebooks, flashcards, and practice tests.
