Chinese engineers develop carbon fiber 10 times stronger than steel

Engineers from the China National Building Materials Group have developed a carbon fiber called T1200 with a tensile strength ten times greater than that of common steel while having only a quarter of its density. The fiber’s diameter is less than one-tenth the thickness of a human hair, making it exceptionally strong and lightweight.

This material stands out due to its extraordinary lightness and strength and is ready for mass production. It is expected to be utilized in strategically important sectors such as aerospace, low-volume manufacturing, and humanoid robotics.

The introduction of this new carbon fiber could greatly enhance the efficiency of technology by reducing the weight of structures and broadening industrial applications. Its deployment is anticipated to drive innovation in high-tech industries.
