Meta announces new capabilities for AI agent Muse — TechCrunch
Meta presented new features and integrations for its personal AI agent Muse at the Connect conference in Menlo Park, United States. The agent, launched in early September, is intended to interact with users’ applications and digital accounts, including email and calendars. TechCrunch reports on the announcements.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg called Muse a central element of the company’s vision in artificial intelligence. According to him, in the coming years the service is expected to become a personal tool for achieving goals and completing everyday tasks. Meta plans to provide free access to a significant number of tokens and later receive a small commission from transactions.
Avatar and smart glasses
Muse users will soon be able to create a digital avatar for the agent and communicate with it via video calls. Meta developed the Muse Realtime Avatar model for this feature. According to the company, the avatar will have a visual appearance and a voice and will be able to conduct a live conversation: users will be able to ask it questions or assign tasks.

Meta also announced Muse integration with its smart glasses lineup. The agent will be activated by a voice command and, according to the company, will be able to accompany a personalized workout, log meals, book appointments, and help purchase products seen by the user. Muse will operate in the background and notify the user after completing an assignment. Meta expects to launch this capability in the coming months.
Work on Mac and commerce integrations
The company is also expanding Muse’s capabilities for work on Mac computers. Users will be able to assign tasks to the agent, and it will be able to work with any applications on the desktop. Meta’s chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, said this feature could help run a small business and complete work tasks.
Meta is also developing a separate email address for Muse, which it plans to launch soon. Users will be able to add the agent to email correspondence or forward emails to it for processing. The company announced partnerships with Stripe and Shopify, as well as integrations with Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair, Expedia, GitHub, Granola, and Notion. A connection for Instacart is expected later. Meta has also expanded support for payments via PayPal and allowed developers to create their own connectors for Muse: in less than a week, the company received more than 1,500 applications.
