Meta develops AI that predicts brain responses to sight, sound and language
Meta has created an artificial intelligence model, Tribe v2, capable of predicting human brain reactions to visual and auditory stimuli. This technology was developed for scientific purposes, aimed at advancing research in neuroscience.
Tribe v2 was trained using MRI data from four individuals and brain activity data from over 700 volunteers. Participants were shown various media files including images, videos, texts, and were also exposed to podcasts.
The system learned to reliably predict brain activity even for images not included in the original dataset without further neural network training, enabling neuroscientists to test hypotheses without direct human involvement.
Meta is a leading global technology company recognized for its innovations in social networking, virtual and augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. Its scientific initiatives drive breakthroughs across multiple fields.
This breakthrough offers new opportunities for brain research and could accelerate the development of diagnostic and treatment methods for neurodegenerative diseases.
