In Beijing, robots are being used for everyday services: they make coffee and prepare Chinese dishes, greet restaurant guests, and clean up after them. Robots are also being sold in the city’s shopping districts, according to ECNS.
In the first half of 2026, leading manufacturers of humanoid robots in Beijing produced nearly 6,000 units. This is nearly ten times more than during the same period the previous year. There are more than 30 manufacturers of humanoid robots operating in the city—accounting for more than 20% of the total number in China.
At the smart, unmanned 7Fresh Coffee shop in the Galaxy SOHO complex, robots grind coffee, brew the extract, mix ingredients, and serve drinks. According to the publication, it takes less than 30 seconds to prepare a single drink. On opening day, the café successfully set a Guinness World Records challenge by preparing 202 cups in one hour.

At a robotic restaurant in the Yizhuang district, nearly 20 robots perform various tasks—from greeting guests to cleaning up after them. The robot chef can prepare about 50 classic Chinese dishes, including braised pork and stir-fried potato strips. It measures out seasonings with a margin of error of no more than 0.1 grams.
In late April, Unitree Robotics opened its first company-owned store in the Wangfujing district. There, visitors can interact with the products, including the G1 humanoid robot and the Go2 robot dog.
