In London, United Kingdom, AI actress Tilly Norwood, created by the production company PARTICLE 6, gave a video interview about the upcoming feature film Misaligned. As CBS News reports, the digital character appears as a woman in her early 20s with freckles on her nose.
Journalist Lee Kinery said that in less than a minute, Norwood identified her age and the region of the United States where she is from. PARTICLE 6's London-based head, Eline van der Velden, did not explain exactly how this happened, but said that the system did not independently search for information about the interviewee in real time.
The film Misaligned
According to van der Velden, Misaligned, in which Norwood is set to play, is an example of artificial intelligence's capabilities. She believes that AI in filmmaking can help directors without access to multimillion-dollar budgets tell their own stories.

Norwood told CBS News that people, including directors, screenwriters and editors, work on and are paid for such projects. Van der Velden also suggested that in the future, actors may be able to create their own AI characters in order to work longer in the profession.

The American union SAG-AFTRA said it opposes replacing human performers with synthetic characters. The organization claims that Tilly Norwood was trained on the work of numerous professional performers without their consent or compensation.
The AI character called this concern fair and said that it considers artificial intelligence a new tool for creativity rather than a replacement for actors. Van der Velden said that Norwood operates on existing large language models, which can be modified if necessary, and that the character itself is not capable of harming humanity.
