Since 2009, China’s Tsinghua University has outpaced six leading US universities in the number of patents filed in artificial intelligence and machine learning, marking its position as a leader in technological innovation in this field.
According to LexisNexis data, Tsinghua has surpassed renowned institutions such as Harvard, Princeton, California Institute of Technology, Stanford, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of California. The data includes both active and inactive patents as well as patent families covering multiple jurisdictions.
