Vivo unveils X500 Pro Max with 17 EV range in China — The Verge
Vivo has unveiled the X500 flagship smartphone lineup in China, including the X500, X500 Pro, and the new X500 Pro Max. The top model features a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia L910 sensor and supports 4K slow-motion video recording at 240 frames per second, The Verge reports.
Camera and dynamic range
The Vivo X500 Pro Max uses a 50-megapixel 1/1.28-inch Sony Lytia L910 sensor. It is Sony's first sensor with LOFIC technology, which makes it possible to expand the dynamic range. Vivo claims the camera has a “true ultra-high dynamic range of 17 EV.”
The model also received a 200-megapixel telephoto lens with 3.7x zoom, which was previously used in the X300 Ultra. The X500 Pro Max supports Vivo's teleconverter with a 400 mm equivalent focal length. All three smartphones in the X500 series support at least one of the company's teleconverters.

Chips, displays, and batteries
The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max became the first smartphones based on the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro platform, while the base X500 is equipped with a Dimensity 9600M chip. According to the publication, the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro enables 4K video recording at 240 frames per second. Other claimed video capabilities include 10-bit Log recording and new cinematic styles.
The X500 Pro has a 6.36-inch OLED display, while the X500 Pro Max has a 6.85-inch display; the base model has a display of an intermediate size. The smartphones received silicon-carbon batteries with capacities ranging from 6,510 to 8,000 mAh and run OriginOS 7. The lineup will first launch on the Chinese market, with a global release expected later, although its date has not yet been announced.
