Robby Stein to speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in the US — TechCrunch
Google Search Vice President of Product Robby Stein will speak at the TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 conference in San Francisco, United States. The event will take place on October 13–15 at Moscone West. Stein will take part in a conversation on the Builders Stage about how product decisions should change as a service's audience grows.
As TechCrunch reports, the session is titled “From MVP to Billions of Users: How Product Decisions Must Evolve as You Scale.” The discussion will examine the balance between development speed and user trust, as well as between innovation and the reliability of a product used by billions of people.
From MVP to a large-scale product
Session participants will discuss how teams can continue experimenting when users expect a product to work seamlessly. The announced topics include introducing new features without losing the qualities for which users value the service, as well as revisiting approaches that worked at an early stage of a company's development.

TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 is expected to bring together more than 10,000 representatives of startups, investors, and technology executives. The program includes more than 250 speakers and over 200 sessions.
Stein's experience at Google and Instagram
Stein was a co-founder and head of the social recommendations startup Stamped, which was acquired by Yahoo. He later led consumer products at Instagram for five years, where he helped develop Stories, Feed, Direct Messaging, and Reels.
Before returning to Google in 2024, he led product at Artifact, an artificial intelligence-powered news service. Stein now works on products and user experience involving generative AI in Google Search. In May, Google reported that AI Mode surpassed 1 billion monthly users a year after its debut.
