An FSB agent who spied on defense facilities in Kyiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison
An FSB agent who gathered intelligence on the security system for strategic facilities in the capital has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, noting that the suspect was exposed back in August 2025. Counterintelligence officers caught her red-handed while she was conducting reconnaissance near one of the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The investigation established that the convicted woman is a Kyiv-based freelancer whom the Russian special service recruited through an acquaintance in occupied Crimea. Her main task was to create detailed floor plans of checkpoint locations, service parking lots, and the perimeters of defense facilities, as well as the bases of the capital’s TCCs. In exchange for her work, the woman expected to be “evacuated” to Russia. During searches, a smartphone containing evidence of communication with an FSB handler was seized from her.
Based on the evidence gathered, the court found the woman guilty of high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This verdict is yet another confirmation that punishment is inevitable for those who threaten national security.
Earlier in Kherson, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent who was preparing a sabotage operation to infiltrate saboteurs onto the right bank of the region.
The Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a woman suspected of collaborating with Russia’s FSB. According to the investigation, she coordinated airstrikes on Kyiv’s energy infrastructure and gathered information on the movements of the Defense Forces.
