5 million hryvnias in compensation for the murder of Faryon will be given to the Rubizh brigade

The 5 million hryvnia in compensation awarded by the court for the murder of linguist and civic activist Iryna Farion will be donated to the “Rubizh” brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard.

“I want to note that the funds allocated for compensation for moral damages—5 million hryvnias—will be directed to the ‘Rubizh’ brigade, where my husband, Vasyl Osoba, served. And I believe we will be able to defeat the enemy. Because right now we see that there are many internal enemies,” she said.

Farion’s daughter thanked Ukrainians for their support and noted that without it, the killer would not have received a life sentence.

This was stated after the court hearing by Iryna Farion’s daughter, Sofia Osoba, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

On September 17, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lviv concluded the court proceedings in the case of the murder of linguist Iryna Farion. Afterward, the panel of judges retired to the deliberation room to render their verdict.

On the second anniversary of the death of linguist and People’s Deputy of the 7th convocation Iryna Farion, her daughter Sofia Osoba published a poignant video message. She shared family memories, spoke about a family tradition, and expressed words of love and gratitude to her mother.

As a reminder, the defendant accused of Farion’s murder will be assigned a public defender.
