Angelina Jolie revealed who pays for her humanitarian trips to Ukraine
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie, who recently visited Ukraine, revealed details about her humanitarian trips. In particular, she explained who funds her trips and how she chooses countries for future visits.
According to Angelina Jolie, she pays for her humanitarian trips herself. While working at the UN, this was also her responsibility. The actress also handles security and lodging arrangements on her own.
“To be honest, not much has changed. I’ve always paid for everything myself. Even during my time at the UN, my trips were never the organization’s responsibility. The same applied to accommodations, security, and everything else. I never wanted any organization to take on that burden for me,” the star noted. At the same time, she continues to maintain ties with people at the UN, the Red Cross, and other organizations.
The actress also explained how she chooses countries for her future trips. “It depends on where you feel you can be of help,” she noted.
According to Jolie, she is currently considering several countries based on their needs. “One of them is going through a current crisis that requires some attention, while another is facing a somewhat forgotten emergency that it’s extremely important not to forget,” the actress explained.
Angelina Jolie also spoke about her work with refugees. She said they have become some of the people closest to her.
“I say that I’m honored to work with refugees because they truly are some of the most wonderful people. They’re my closest friends. They’re so resilient, so incredible. I’ve learned most of my life lessons from them, if not from my own children,” she said.
