The appeals court did not overturn the decision regarding the 95 million hryvnia allocation for the Lviv–Krakivets road
The Court of Appeals confirmed that more than 95.5 million hryvnias in budget funds allocated for the repair of the “Lviv–Krakovets” road had been misused. The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Lviv Oblast was unable to appeal the decision.
The court ordered the return of over 95.5 million hryvnias to the state budget.
The alleged misuse of 95 million hryvnias was uncovered during an audit conducted by the State Audit Service’s Western Office in 2024. Based on the audit, prosecutors filed a lawsuit. The funds were supposed to be used for maintenance of the “Lviv–Krakovets” highway, but were instead used for new construction on that road.
The State Audit Service and prosecutors demanded that the violations be rectified and the funds returned to the state budget. The court fully upheld the validity of the auditors’ findings; the fact of the legal violation and the misuse of budget funds was definitively proven in court.
