Weather fronts will bring rain, colder temperatures, and strong winds to Ukraine
On Thursday, April 23, 2026, weather conditions in Ukraine will deteriorate significantly due to active atmospheric fronts.
Forecasters predict precipitation across nearly the entire country, accompanied by a sharp drop in temperature and gusty winds.
According to Natalka Didenko, rainy weather will cover most regions during the day—precipitation intensity will range from light to moderate.
The only exception will be the western regions, where the chance of rain will remain minimal, although cloud cover will persist.
One of the most dangerous factors will be a strong northwesterly wind, with gusts reaching 15–20 meters per second.
Citizens are advised to avoid standing under large trees, billboards, and unstable structures due to the risk of injury.
Temperatures in most regions will range between +8 and +11 degrees, which is significantly below the seasonal average for the second half of April.
It will be slightly warmer only in the south and west of Ukraine, where temperatures may rise to +10…+14 degrees.
No precipitation is expected in the capital overnight, and the air temperature will remain at +3…+5 degrees.
However, rain will begin in Kyiv during the day, the wind will pick up, and the air will warm up to only a modest +7…+9 degrees, forcing Kyiv residents to return to warm outerwear.
The meteorologist warns that sudden changes in atmospheric pressure and temperature fluctuations can negatively affect the well-being of weather-sensitive individuals.
People with cardiovascular diseases should exercise particular caution, as such weather fluctuations often trigger exacerbations of chronic conditions.
Cold weather in Ukraine will persist until the end of April
