The State Bureau of Investigation caught a law enforcement officer in Kyiv transporting psychotropic substances

Officers from the State Bureau of Investigations, in collaboration with the National Police, have exposed a Kyiv law enforcement officer who was involved in the large-scale illegal distribution of psychotropic substances.

This was reported by the SBI. The suspect purchased narcotics in the capital and transported them to the Zhytomyr region, hoping that his official ID would help him avoid thorough checks at checkpoints.

The suspect was detained during another attempt to transport the prohibited substances. During a search, law enforcement officers found five kilograms of the psychotropic substance PVP, packaged in plastic bags. According to preliminary expert estimates, the approximate value of the seized goods on the black market is nearly 4.8 million UAH.

The suspect has now been officially charged with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This provision carries a severe penalty of imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing, and other members of the drug network are being identified; according to available data, this network distributed psychotropic substances throughout the country.

Kyiv police have charged participants in an armed conflict in Podil.
