More than 85 hectares of defense land near the border with Belarus have been returned to the state
Following lawsuits filed by prosecutors, more than 85 hectares of defense land located within the two-kilometer border zone along Ukraine’s border with Belarus were returned to the state.
These are two land plots in Rivne Oblast. The first, covering 30 hectares, had been illegally registered as municipal property. On August 10, the court returned it to the state. Its value is estimated at 63.9 million hryvnias.
Another plot, covering 55.25 hectares and valued at 77.4 million hryvnias, was returned to the state following a lawsuit filed by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs of the Western Region.
The total value of the returned land exceeds 141 million hryvnias.
Prosecutors emphasized that defense lands in the border zone may only be held as state property.
