Yermak stated that he was unaware of his father's trips to Russia
Andriy Yermak, the former head of the Office of the President, who is suspected by NABU and the SAPO of involvement in the laundering of 460 million hryvnias during the construction of a luxury residence near Kyiv, stated that he was unaware of his father Boris Yermak’s trips to Russia.
He said this on May 21 at the High Anti-Corruption Court during the hearing of an appeal against a preventive measure, responding to a question from a journalist from “Schemes.”
“My father is 81 years old. He is a very respectable, honest, patriotic man. I am unaware of his trips. And even if that were the case, I think he is the one who should speak about it,” Yermak stated.
He also called the reports about his family a “campaign.”
Earlier, “Schemes” reported that in November 2019, Boris Yermak flew to St. Petersburg via Minsk. Accompanying him on the trip was his wife, Andriy Yermak’s mother, who, according to journalists, also visited Russia at least three times in 2018–2019.
According to the SAP, Boris Yermak also appears in the case files regarding the construction of a luxury residence in Kozin, where, according to the investigation, he coordinated the work of contractors and approved financial documents. At the same time, no official charges have been brought against him.
Boris Yermak, the father of former Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, visited Russia in late 2019 via transit through Belarus after his son had already become an aide to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Andriy Yermak was released from pretrial detention and made his first comments.
Yermak stated in court that he respects state institutions.
Bail proceedings for Yermak have begun.
