Fedorov Is Willing to Return Only to the Ministry of Defense — FT
Former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has turned down a new position offered to him by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to the Financial Times, he is willing to return only to the Ministry of Defense.
The publication reports that Zelenskyy had offered Fedorov a position within the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) that would involve overseeing defense innovation, military reform, and the development of defense technologies, with direct access to the president.
According to journalist Christopher Miller, Fedorov was also to coordinate the scaling up of long-range weapons production and help attract foreign investment into Ukraine’s defense industry.

On July 16, rallies in support of Mykhailo Fedorov took place for the second time that day in Kyiv, Lviv, and Lutsk following reports of his resignation as defense minister. Participants called on the authorities to continue the reforms that have already begun and to transparently select the new leadership of the Ministry of Defense.
