Fedorov called the coming months decisive in the war with Russia

Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated on June 18 that the coming months will be decisive in Russia’s war against Ukraine. He made these remarks during a press conference following a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format.

According to him, this advantage must be exploited to the fullest to force the enemy to make peace. Following the meeting, the partners also announced the allocation of $4 billion in new aid to Ukraine.

According to Fedorov, the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ advantage is evident both on the front lines and in drone strikes against enemy targets. The minister added that the coming months will be decisive for the further course of the war, so the current advantage should be used to the fullest to force the Kremlin to agree to fair terms of peace.

Partners have focused most of the new funding on three areas—the PURL program, strengthening air defense, long-range artillery, and Ukrainian drones:

  • Nearly $1 billion will be allocated to the PURL mechanism, which ensures the supply of missiles for Patriot systems.
  • The largest contributions came from Germany, Norway, the Netherlands, and Sweden. In addition, Berlin allocated an additional $200 million to the JUMPSTART program for long-term purchases of missiles for the Patriot system;
  • About $540 million is earmarked for the procurement of extended-range artillery ammunition. Key donors include Norway, Denmark, Spain, Lithuania, and Luxembourg;
  • Over $1 billion is being invested in unmanned systems: the United Kingdom will fund the purchase of 150,000 Ukrainian drones, the Netherlands will fund the acquisition of cruise missiles for the Defense Forces, and Norway will fund the purchase of maritime drones.

The partners also continue to invest in electronic warfare equipment, infantry fighting vehicles, and training centers for the Ukrainian military. Separately, Fedorov thanked President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his leadership in securing international support.

Meanwhile, in Balashikha, near Moscow, local residents are reporting unusual effects of the rain—black, oily stains with a burning smell are left on clothing, cars, and other surfaces.

In five cities in the Moscow region, 16 people sustained injuries of varying severity as a result of falling debris and the chaotic response of Russian air defenses during the drone attack.

The Russian State Duma has responded to the record-breaking attack on Moscow.

The massive drone attack on Moscow sparked a wave of outrage and division across Russia’s regions.

Madyar pointed out the inscription on the drones that attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery for the third time.
