Fedorov announced that Ukraine has received rare state-of-the-art F-16 simulators
Ukraine has received F-16 mobile simulators, which will help speed up pilot training and strengthen the defense of its airspace against Russian missiles. Due to the high cost of such systems, there are only a few of them in the world.
Fedorov personally announced the new equipment on Facebook.
According to Fedorov, F-16 fighter jets are already defending Ukrainian skies. To improve the effectiveness of intercepting aerial targets, it is necessary to enhance pilot training and reduce the time between training and combat deployment.
“With the support of our partners, we have received mobile F-16 simulators in addition to the stationary ones. There are only a few of them in the world due to their high cost, and some are already in Ukraine. This provides an opportunity to continuously train our pilots—in effect, transitioning to NATO standards in their training,” the minister noted.
Thanks to the simulators, pilots practice complex combat scenarios even before takeoff:
reaction speed and decision-making;
situational awareness in dynamic combat;
and the execution of specific combat missions in a simulated environment.
The simulators were developed specifically to meet our requirements and technical specifications and take into account the geographical features of Ukraine. The key advantage is mobility. The simulators can be quickly relocated, which is critically important for pilot safety amid constant attacks.
“More training means faster preparation, preserved aircraft resources, and significantly higher effectiveness in the air. Defending the skies is our top priority. We continue to systematically strengthen our aviation capabilities and respond to the enemy asymmetrically through technology,” Fedorov emphasized.
As a reminder, at Ramstein, a number of countries announced new contributions to the PURL program—Fedorov.
Ramstein in Berlinfocused on drones and long-range missiles for Ukraine.
Also, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset will again not participate in the meeting of the “Ramstein” Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense, limiting himself to sending his deputy.
Additionally, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will join the meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense.
