Finland is ready to help Ukraine defend against Russian ballistic missiles
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he discussed with Finnish President Alexander Stubb ways to strengthen Ukraine’s defenses against Russian ballistic attacks. According to him, the Finnish side is ready to support Ukraine in this regard.
During the talks, the parties also coordinated further steps to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
Zelenskyy emphasized that strengthening air and missile defense remains one of Ukraine’s key priorities amid the constant threat of Russian strikes.
“I discussed with Alex Stubb how Finland can help us defend against Russian ballistic missile attacks. We understand how many missiles for air defense systems are available worldwide. And Ukraine needs them every day; every day we have to defend ourselves against these Russian strikes. If each of our partner countries helps us now, it will save many lives. Thank you to Alex for his immediate response and willingness to support us,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.
Zelenskyy and Stubb also discussed diplomacy—“everything that could compel Russia to make peace.”
Zelenskyy emphasized that “when Putin can no longer kill people, he will be forced to seek a way out of this war. Only sufficient support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia can bring about peace.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also signed a decree dismissing Olga Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States.
Olga Stefanishyna stated that the decision to step down as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States was her own initiative. She noted that she herself had decided to resign from her diplomatic post.
