The U.S. informed Ukraine about Retcliffe's meetings in Moscow
Ukraine has received information from the United States regarding the meetings that CIA Director John Ratcliffe held in Moscow in recent days. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. side for the information and stated that Kyiv appreciates Washington’s coordinated actions.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine today received information from the United States regarding meetings in Moscow that took place in recent days. This refers to the visit to Russia by John Ratcliffe, Director of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian and American officials held talks and discussed the results of Washington’s contacts with Moscow. “We have just spoken with the American side. I am grateful for the information and for setting the necessary tone for the conversation with Russia,” the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine views the coordinated efforts with the United States positively. He said that Washington is promoting a realistic vision of the steps needed to end the war. “We appreciate the coordinated efforts and the fact that the U.S. is promoting a completely realistic vision of what needs to be done,” the head of state noted.
The president also emphasized that the main goal must remain ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. “Russia must end its war; we must create all the conditions for this to happen,” Zelenskyy stated.
Thus, Kyiv received information from Washington regarding recent contacts between the U.S. and Russia. At the same time, the president did not disclose details of Retcliffe’s meetings in Moscow nor specify exactly what information was conveyed to Ukraine. Zelenskyy merely emphasized that Kyiv and Washington continue to coordinate their actions and work toward creating the conditions for ending the war. This is according to a statement by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
