Fedorov became an advisor to the Italian Minister of Defense
Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has become an advisor to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crozetto on defense innovation. He will help develop military technologies and share Ukraine’s experience in technological warfare with the Italian side.
According to him, he and his team have embarked on an international tour during which they plan to work on new projects in the field of defense technology. The first stop was a meeting with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. “I thanked Guido for his personal support and for offering me the position of advisor on defense innovation. I am grateful for his trust and our strategic partnership,” Fedorov said.
What Fedorov Will Be Working On
According to the former minister, his task will be to help Italy develop modern warfare technologies and strengthen its defense sector. This also involves adapting to new security challenges emerging around the world. Fedorov plans to share with Italian partners Ukraine’s experience, as the country has become a leader in the use of drones and other technological solutions on the battlefield during years of full-scale war.
During the meeting, the parties discussed several key areas, including drones, autonomous systems, air defense, and the development of the defense tech ecosystem. “The future of defense lies with countries capable of quickly testing and scaling new solutions by combining technology with strong manufacturing capabilities,” Fedorov said.
At the same time, he emphasized that projects in Ukraine will remain the main focus of his work. These are solutions that can strengthen Ukrainian defense and help attract international resources.
Ukraine’s Experience for Europe
Fedorov believes that Ukraine’s experience in developing and utilizing military technologies could be useful for European countries. During the full-scale war, Ukraine was forced to rapidly develop new battlefield solutions. This involves not only the production of drones but also autonomous systems, digital technologies, reconnaissance, and countermeasures against Russian drones.
Now, there are plans to apply this experience to international projects as well. According to Fedorov, cooperation with Italy could become part of broader efforts to develop new defense solutions at the European level. He plans to use “Ukraine’s unique experience in technological warfare” to develop joint projects that can strengthen both Ukraine and its European partners.
