Ukrainians have accumulated more than 104 billion hryvnia in utility bills
As of June 30, 2026, Ukrainians owed 104.2 billion hryvnia for housing and utility services. The largest portion of the debt is for heating and hot water, as well as gas.
In the second quarter of 2026, the population paid 67.1 billion hryvnia for housing and utility services. At the same time, consumers were billed 53.5 billion hryvnia during this period. Despite this, the total amount of accumulated debt remains significant. As of the end of June, it stood at 104.2 billion hryvnia.
Ukrainians owe the most for heat and hot water—33.8 billion hryvnia. In second place is the supply and distribution of natural gas. The debt for these services amounts to 29.1 billion UAH. Ukrainians owe another 17.3 billion UAH for the supply and distribution of electricity.
Debt for centralized water supply and sewage services totals 10.5 billion hryvnias. Residents owe 10.1 billion hryvnias for the management of apartment buildings. The smallest amount of debt is for solid waste management—3.4 billion hryvnias.
Thus, the largest share of utility debt is attributable to heat, hot water, and gas. In total, as of the end of June, the amount of unpaid utility bills in Ukraine exceeded 104 billion hryvnia. These figures were released by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.
