Photo: Tram tracks in Vinnytsia have warped due to the heat
In Vinnytsia, tram tracks were found to have warped due to the extreme heat. The incident occurred on June 28 on Soborna Street, according to local authorities.
It is noted that the warping was caused by abnormally high air temperatures.
A repair crew immediately began repairing the damage to the tracks. After the rails cooled down, specialists performed welding work at the joint, which allowed them to correct the warping and return the track to its original position. Tram service was restored by evening.
Overnight, the repair crew returned to the site to fully resolve the issue. After temperature compensation, specialists corrected the rail sagging. All work was completed by morning, according to the Department of Transportation and Urban Mobility of the Vinnytsia City Council.
