Photos, videos: Lviv is once again protesting in support of Fedorov
On the evening of July 17, another peaceful rally in support of former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov took place in Lviv. Participants in the mass rally gathered on Svobody Avenue to call on the country’s leadership to reinstate him to his post.
In addition to demanding that the head of the Defense Ministry retain his position, the protesters criticized the military leadership. In particular, those present called for the dismissal of Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Those present on the square held signs with slogans such as “Keep Fedorov as Defense Minister,” “Down with Syrsky,” and “Fedorov’s dismissal is a betrayal of the army and the people.”

As a reminder, on July 16, rallies in support of Mykhailo Fedorov took place for the second time that day in Kyiv, Lviv, and Lutsk following reports of his resignation as defense minister. Participants called on the authorities to continue the reforms that have already begun and to transparently select new leadership for the Ministry of Defense.
Russian Z-bloggers reacted positively to Mykhailo Fedorov’s dismissal as Ukraine’s defense minister, claiming that it could allegedly weaken the Ukrainian army.
