Thunderstorms and a sudden drop in temperature: What will the weather be like in Ukraine on July 21?
The weather in Ukraine on July 21 will be changeable and varied. Thunderstorms are expected in some regions, and a “yellow” danger level has already been declared due to the inclement weather.
At the same time, it will become cooler in most regions in the coming days, and the air will feel noticeably fresher.
Weather Highlights for the Coming Days
According to the forecast by experts at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center for the current workweek (July 21–24), moderate rain is likely in the southern and eastern regions over the next few days.
On Tuesday, July 21, precipitation is also possible in most central regions.
On Thursday, July 23, rain is expected in southeastern and eastern Ukraine.
In some areas, the following cannot be ruled out:
heavy rain;
thunderstorms;
during the day (in some areas)—hail and squalls of 15–20 m/s.
In the rest of the country—no precipitation.
Average nighttime temperatures will range from +10 to +18°C, and daytime temperatures from +23 to +28°C.
In the east and southeast of the country, temperatures will reach +30...+33°C in some places.
Meanwhile, in the western regions—and across Ukraine as early as July 22–23—temperatures are expected to drop by 3–5 degrees Celsius.
Where to expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, and squalls on July 21
Overall, the weather in Ukraine on Tuesday, July 21, is expected to be partly cloudy.
Moderate rain (and in some places, heavy rain during the day) is forecast for most central and southern regions, as well as in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
The rest of the country will see no precipitation.
Winds will be from the north, and from the west in the western and northern regions, with speeds of 5–10 m/s.
In addition, according to a warning from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, hazardous weather conditions are likely on July 21:
in most central regions;
in most southern regions;
in the Kharkiv region.
These include thunderstorms, and during the day (in some areas)—hail and squalls of 15–20 m/s.
"Level I hazard, yellow," experts stated.
It is noted that such weather conditions may complicate:
the operations of energy, construction, and utility companies;
traffic flow.
What to Expect for Nighttime and Daytime Temperatures
Tonight, air temperatures in the south and east of the country may range from about 16 to 21°C.
During the day, temperatures in these regions are expected to reach +28...+33°C.
In the rest of Ukraine:
overnight: +13...+18°C;
during the day, +23...+28°C.
It will be coolest in the western regions, with temperatures around +20...+25°C.
What to expect from the weather in Kyiv and the surrounding region
On July 21, the weather in Kyiv and the Kyiv region is also expected to be partly cloudy. However, no precipitation is expected.
The wind will be from the west, blowing at 5–10 m/s.

in the region +13...+18°C.
