Forecasters have issued a warning about thunderstorms, hail, and squalls in Ukraine on July 28
On Tuesday, July 28, a significant deterioration in weather conditions is expected across Ukraine. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for most of the country, with hail and strong gusts of wind in some areas. In Kyiv, daytime temperatures will be around +22…+24°, but the weather will remain rainy.
Across Ukraine, it will be cloudy with some clear spells—but the lull is deceptive. Short-lived rains and thunderstorms are expected across most of the country. During the day, in the northeastern part of the country, most of the central regions, and the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, hail and squalls with wind speeds of 15–20 m/s are forecast in some areas. In the central regions, as well as in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, heavy rain is expected in some areas. Only in the east and southeast of the country will it be possible to avoid precipitation at night. The wind will be from the northwest at 7–12 m/s, with gusts of 15–20 m/s in some parts of the western regions during the day. Temperatures at night will range from 13–18°, and 10–15° in the western regions; during the day, 21–26°, reaching up to 29° in the southeastern part of the country.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a yellow danger level (Level I) for the northeastern part of the country, most of the central regions, and the Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Thunderstorms with hail and squalls may disrupt operations at energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as traffic.
On Tuesday, July 28, Kyiv will be cloudy with some sunny intervals—the capital will also experience unpredictable weather. Rain is expected, with thunderstorms in some areas. The wind will be from the northwest at 7–12 m/s. Temperatures in the Kyiv region will range from 13–18° at night to 21–26° during the day; in Kyiv, temperatures will range from 16–18° at night to 22–24° during the day.
