An emergency occurred in the village of Karolino-Bugaz in the Odesa region: strong winds and currents swept a 9-year-old child on an inflatable mattress far out into the open sea. Rescuing the child is complicated by the fact that the area is mined.

The girl’s uncle set out to help her, but he, too, began to be swept away from the shore. Police officers who arrived at the scene were unable to immediately begin rescue operations due to the threat of mines and relayed the information to the military to obtain permission.

One of the vacationers set out on his own on a SUP board to help the victims. According to eyewitnesses, he managed to reach the child and the man and secure the air mattress, but he is unable to return to shore on his own due to the strong current and wind. The rescue operation is ongoing.

This is being reported on social media.
