The head of the Lviv State Geocadastre has been detained for attempting to bribe an official from the National Agency for Corruption Prevention
Officials from the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), in cooperation with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK), detained the head of the Main Directorate of the State Geocadastre in Lviv Oblast, who attempted to offer a bribe of 30,000 U.S. dollars to a NAZK department head. In exchange for this money, the official sought to obtain a favorable outcome of a lifestyle review and conceal potential violations.
The investigation established that the probe into the official began in late 2025. In June 2026, during a meeting in Lviv, he wrote the amount of the illegal benefit on a napkin, after which the NACP employee immediately notified his superiors.
The suspect was detained in Kyiv directly during the handover of the money. He has been notified of charges under Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a sentence of up to 8 years in prison; the issue of pretrial detention is currently being decided.
