An underground fuel business worth over 50 million hryvnias was uncovered in Ukraine

The National Police, in collaboration with the Economic Security Bureau, uncovered a scheme involving the sale of substandard fuel, the origin of which raised doubts. During the investigation, law enforcement officers traced the entire supply chain—from the purchase of fuel for sale at gas stations all the way back to its manufacturer.

At the oil depot’s production facilities, gasoline and diesel fuel that did not meet DSTU standards were produced and sold to end consumers as high-quality “A-95” and “A95-Euro.”

Law enforcement officers, with the participation of specialists from the State Environmental Inspection of Ukraine, conducted 18 searches in the Poltava, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions at the residences of those involved, in office premises, at gas stations, and in specialized semi-trailer tankers used to transport fuel.

Among the items seized were 250,000 liters of liquid, presumably gasoline, 25 metric tons of gas condensate, 24 metric tons of multifunctional diluent, and other items.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.
