Andriy Barmaliy, a musician who has been drafted into the military, reported that he underwent a course of aversion therapy following a scandal involving allegations of sexual harassment. He posted a medical certificate on social media and stated that he had decided to give up alcohol entirely.
According to the document, the treatment is scheduled to last 180 days. After receiving the medication, the musician is prohibited from consuming alcohol or products containing ethyl alcohol.
The scandal erupted after a statement by PR manager Alina Galytska, who accused Barmalii of inappropriate behavior during a meeting in Kyiv. The musician admitted that he was intoxicated, publicly apologized, and stated that alcohol is no excuse for his actions.
Following the incident, the music community Fusion Jams terminated its collaboration with Barmalii, and the organization “Cultural Forces,” where he is serving in the military, launched an internal investigation.
