Zelenskyy announced a National Security and Defense Council meeting on regional resilience
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council will take place early next week. The main topic will be the implementation of resilience plans in the regions, as, according to the head of state, many regions have not yet fulfilled the necessary tasks.
The president also announced decisions to strengthen logistics and protect frontline communities, and stated that Ukraine will continue to launch long-range strikes against Russian military targets.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council will take place early next week. It will be dedicated to the implementation of resilience plans in Ukrainian regions. According to the president, he has already held a meeting on this matter with Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi and Minister of Infrastructure Mykola Kalashnyk. During the meeting, they discussed how tasks are being carried out in the regions.
Zelenskyy emphasized that not all regions are progressing at the same pace. “We are preparing a National Security and Defense Council meeting for early next week to address the implementation of resilience plans in the regions. Unfortunately, much remains to be done in the regions. Every region must catch up,” the president said.
Special attention was given to logistics and frontline communities
During the meeting, participants also discussed the situation with the railway infrastructure, which is regularly subjected to Russian attacks, as well as security challenges in the Odesa region. The President noted that work is currently underway on solutions that cannot yet be made public. “There are things that need to be done behind the scenes to boost the capacity of our logistics,” he explained.
In addition, Zelenskyy instructed officials to intensify efforts in frontline and border communities. This includes the construction and reinforcement of protective structures, as well as work on roads and other critical infrastructure. The president thanked the prime minister for his approach to organizing this work and emphasized that the main priority now is to achieve concrete results. “We need results,” the head of state stressed.
Military Officials Discussed New Decisions
Separately, Zelenskyy reported on a series of meetings with military leadership. Participants included the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense, the relevant deputy head of the Office of the President, and representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine.
According to the president, the main topics were strengthening coordination among all agencies, working with international partners, and seeking additional assistance for Ukraine. “It is important that everyone work as quickly as possible in a coordinated manner to secure what we need from our partners, to convince them to help us more, and to respond asymmetrically to Russian attacks. There are steps and decisions that we agreed upon today and that we urgently need,” Zelenskyy stated.
Ukraine will continue long-range strikes
The president also emphasized that Ukraine will continue to carry out long-range strikes against military targets on Russian territory. According to him, this is necessary so that the Russian authorities feel the consequences of their own aggression. “There will be more of our deep-strike operations to return the war to where it came from, and so that the Russians feel who is the only one who does not want to end this war,” the head of state said.
He emphasized that the sole reason for the war’s continuation is Moscow’s stance. That is why, according to Zelenskyy, Ukraine continues to need not only verbal international support but also concrete assistance to strengthen the country’s defense and security. The head of state made these remarks in his evening address.
