Ukrposhta has installed new parcel lockers in 15 regions
"Ukrposhta" continues to install internal parcel lockers at its branches. They are now operational in 15 regions of Ukraine and allow most customers to pick up packages without waiting in the general line. The company says this helps make package pickup faster and more convenient.
Ukrposhta continues to expand its network of in-branch parcel lockers. These are special lockers for quick parcel pickup, allowing customers to retrieve their packages without having to speak to a clerk. This was reported by the company’s press service. Currently, the new service is already operational in 15 regions of Ukraine. A total of 376 lockers have been installed in branches out of the 600 planned for this project.
According to the company, following the launch of these in-branch parcel lockers, seven out of ten customers can receive their packages without having to wait in the general line. Ukrposhta explained that the new system works slightly differently than conventional street-side parcel lockers. Already during the sorting stage, a package is automatically routed directly to the correct locker, bypassing the shelves where operators typically store shipments.
Another feature is that these parcel lockers operate according to the schedule of the specific post office. This means that you can pick up a package only when the post office itself is open. The service is already available in cities across the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions.
Using the new service is quite simple. Once the package arrives at the branch, the recipient goes to the pickup locker, enters the SMS code, and retrieves their package. There’s no need to wait in the general line to see a clerk. At the same time, the traditional method of receiving packages through a branch employee remains available. Customers who need additional services or advice can use this option.
The company also noted that the modernization of its sorting hubs ensures faster delivery. Their capacity allows them to process up to three million packages per day. Thanks to this, as Ukrposhta explains, parcels can be delivered the very next day between most Ukrainian cities. The company plans to continue expanding its network of domestic parcel lockers so that even more customers can receive their shipments quickly and without unnecessary delays. As a reminder, Ukrposhta is eliminating the 45-hryvnia surcharge for delivery to rural areas via mobile branches. At the same time, the company is raising its courier delivery rates.
Ukrposhta has suspended operations at its last stationary branch in the frontline town of Druzhkivka in Donetsk Oblast due to constant Russian shelling and the threat to employees and local residents.
