The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police promptly detained three enemy agents involved in the car bombings on July 28 in Odesa.

Among those detained are two students from a local technical college who rigged a Ukrainian soldier’s car with explosives and installed a hidden camera for remote monitoring

Russian special services remotely detonated the explosives when the soldier approached the car (the soldier sustained minor injuries). Another detainee was a local repeat offender who planted a homemade bomb with a yield of approximately 500 grams of TNT equivalent under a civilian taxi driver’s car. The enemy detonated the device while the car was moving: the driver was killed instantly, and his female passenger sustained serious injuries.

The enemy recruited all three suspects through Telegram channels advertising easy money. The suspects are currently in custody. The two students have been charged under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (carrying a sentence of up to 12 years in prison), and the perpetrator of the deadly attack has been charged under Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which carries a sentence of life imprisonment.
