Ukraine has sent combat FPV drones to the U.S. for the first time

The Ukrainian company F-Drones has announced the completion of the delivery of the first batch of F10 strike FPV drones to the United States. A total of 2,000 drones have already been delivered to the U.S. as part of the first phase of the Drone Dominance program for the U.S. Department of Defense. The company noted that the U.S. side is currently conducting the official acceptance procedure for the equipment. Once this process is complete, the contract will be considered fully fulfilled.

F-Drones emphasizes that this is a historic step for Ukraine’s defense industry. “This marks the first time Ukraine has officially authorized the export of finished combat drones manufactured in Ukraine. Previously, export licenses primarily covered individual technologies, components, or services,” the company reported.

The deliveries were preceded by tests in the United States. In February 2026, the company’s American partner, UDD Tech Corp, participated in the first phase of the Drone Dominance program—Gauntlet I. The tests took place at Fort Benning military base in Georgia. There, the U.S. military evaluated the capabilities of modern strike drone systems from various manufacturers.

Based on the test results, the Ukrainian F10 ranked sixth among 25 participants, made the list of 11 winners, and secured a contract to supply 2,000 strike FPV drones as part of the project’s first phase. In addition, UDD Tech Corp was approved to participate in the next phase of the Gauntlet II program.

F-Drones emphasized that fulfilling the contract became possible after completing all necessary procedures in Ukraine. To this end, on July 1, 2026, the State Export Control Service of Ukraine issued an official permit to export a batch of strike drones to the United States. The company also received all necessary approvals in accordance with the law and a positive decision from the Interagency Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation and Export Control.

The company believes that this contract is significant not only for a single manufacturer but also for the entire Ukrainian defense industry. “This is more than just the fulfillment of a single contract. It is confirmation that Ukrainian combat technologies meet the requirements of one of the most demanding military customers in the world. This is how the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the U.S. is being realized,” F-Drones stated.

The company also noted that this project demonstrates the capabilities of Ukrainian manufacturers to create modern combat technologies that have been tested in real combat conditions, successfully pass international export controls, and fulfill defense contracts in accordance with global standards. Once the acceptance procedure by the U.S. side is complete, the first contract will be officially finalized. The company hopes this will pave the way for new international orders and expanded cooperation between the Ukrainian and U.S. defense sectors.
