An FSB informant who spied on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Sumy region was sentenced to eight years in prison

An FSB informant who passed information about Ukrainian military facilities to the enemy has been convicted in Sumy Oblast.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the man tracked the locations of Ukrainian Air Force bases and the flight schedules of combat helicopters, and also passed on information about artillery positions, including multiple launch rocket systems and barrel-type systems.

The suspect turned out to be an employee of a local branch of Ukrzaliznytsia, who was recruited via Telegram, where he was looking for “easy money.”

The SBU exposed him in October 2025, documented his activities, and detained him. During searches, a phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the FSB was seized.

The court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 8 years in prison.

The Counterintelligence Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent of the Russian GRU in Rivne.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian agent in the Kharkiv region who was collecting data for missile and bomb strikes on Ukrainian military positions in the Kupiansk direction.

In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a Russian agent who, under the guise of fulfilling defense contracts, was coordinating airstrikes on Kyiv.
