The Donors' Assembly of the International Cooperation Account will allocate 30 million euros for initial work on the reconstruction of the new safe confinement at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which was damaged by Russia.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
The funds will be used to develop engineering solutions and purchase equipment to restore the arch’s functionality.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Donors’ Assembly in London.

Work is scheduled to be completed by 2030, as there is a risk of further corrosion of the structures, which could complicate the restoration.
