Police have released surveillance footage from a shopping center in Ternopil, where a man was found dead the day before. The footage shows him entering the restroom with a backpack, after which a sound resembling a gunshot can be heard. According to law enforcement officials, the video shows the man first leaving some of his personal belongings in the hallway, then walking toward the restroom with a backpack, and shortly thereafter, a sound is heard from behind the closed door that witnesses describe as resembling a gunshot.

Serhiy Zyubanenko, the head of the Ternopil Regional Police, suggested that the weapon may have been in the backpack, while emphasizing that all circumstances are still being verified and it is too early to draw final conclusions, as the case requires a thorough and impartial investigation.
He also noted that the release of the video was approved by the investigator and the prosecutor, and that the decision was motivated by a desire to stop the spread of rumors and unverified theories on social media, which had already begun to circulate widely regarding the tragedy.
According to Zybanenko, investigators are currently reconstructing the full chronology of events—from the moment the man arrived at the TCC to the moment captured on camera—though law enforcement officials emphasize that there remain questions requiring clear answers.
