Kamyshin responded to the statement by the head of Rheinmetall regarding Ukrainian drones

Alexander Kamyshin, a special advisor to the President of Ukraine on strategic issues, responded to a statement by Armin Papperger, CEO of the German company Rheinmetall, who mocked the Ukrainian drone industry.

Kamyshin wrote about this on social media platform X, emphasizing his respect for all industry workers.

“I often see Ukrainian women working alongside men. They are wonderful homemakers, but are forced to work hard in military factories. They deserve respect, Rheinmetall,” Kamyshin wrote.

Later, Rheinmetall itself issued a new statement expressing respect for the Ukrainian people. “We have the deepest respect for the tremendous efforts of the Ukrainian people, who have been defending themselves against the Russian attack for over four years now. Every man and woman in Ukraine is making an invaluable contribution. Ukraine’s particular merit lies in the fact that it is waging a highly effective fight even with limited resources. The innovative potential and fighting spirit of the Ukrainian people are a source of inspiration for us. We are grateful for the opportunity to support Ukraine with the resources at our disposal,” the company stated.

Earlier, in a conversation with The Atlantic journalist Simon Schuster, Papperger spoke disparagingly about the effectiveness of Ukraine’s low-cost drones against Russian tanks. He claimed that Ukraine had allegedly achieved no technological innovations and compared Ukrainian drone manufacturers to “housewives” who use 3D printers in their kitchens to manufacture parts.

The German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall has already issued a statement emphasizing its deep respect for the Ukrainian people’s efforts to defend against Russian aggression. This followed criticism of Ukrainian drones by the company’s CEO, Armin Papperger.

Earlier, the German defense conglomerate Rheinmetall officially released a video of test flights of its latest strike drone, the FV-014, capable of striking targets at a range of up to 100 kilometers. Although the official test site has not been disclosed, experts speculate that the drone was secretly tested on the Ukrainian front.
