A clergyman of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was sentenced to 15 years for working for the FSB
A court sentenced Archpriest of the Pokrovsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP), who was found guilty of treason and coordinating Russian strikes on the positions of the Defense Forces in Donetsk Oblast.
According to the investigation, the clergyman was recruited by the FSB through his daughter, who lives in Russia. In exchange for help with his family’s relocation and the promise of Russian citizenship, he agreed to cooperate with the occupiers.
According to the SBU, the clergyman patrolled frontline areas, gathered data on Ukrainian military positions, and transmitted it to his Russian handler via a messaging app. During a search, law enforcement officers seized a phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the enemy.
