Koretsky announced the reinstatement of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and named its future head
Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced the new government’s plans to reestablish a separate Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. According to him, Taras Vysotsky may head the ministry, which had previously been merged with another ministry.
“I would also like to draw attention to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, which should, after all, be a self-sufficient and significant branch of the government,” Koretsky said.
He added that Taras Vysotsky, who previously served as first deputy minister and acting minister of agricultural policy before the ministry was merged with the Ministry of Economy, will be nominated for the position of minister of agricultural policy.
At the same time, Koretsky noted that the issue of reestablishing a separate Ministry of Environmental Protection still requires further consideration.
“The only reason why it hasn’t been possible to propose a distribution plan at this time is that we need a little more time to formulate clear goals, objectives, and identify the person who can lead it. With the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, there was 100% certainty,” he explained.
The prime minister emphasized that the separation of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy will be the first step in splitting up the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, since, in his words, that agency was overly burdened with responsibilities.
Koretskyi made this statement during a speech in the Verkhovna Rada prior to the vote on his appointment as prime minister.
The net worth of Prime Ministerial candidate Serhiy Koretsky has been revealed.
As a reminder, the current CEO of the Naftogaz Group, Serhiy Koretskyi, may become Ukraine’s new prime minister.
Before the Verkhovna Rada voted on her resignation, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko presented a report on the government’s work and summarized the Cabinet of Ministers’ activities.
