The court remanded five suspects in the case involving alleged corruption to shield a network of so-called “porn offices,” setting bail in the millions for them, and investigators are now examining how deep the scheme may have gone. Law enforcement officials claim that thanks to “protection” within the police, the illegal business of producing and distributing prohibited content was able to operate unhindered.

Five suspects have been taken into custody, including police department heads in several regions and people in their inner circles. The court set bail ranging from just over one million to eight million hryvnias, depending on each individual’s role in the case.

According to the investigation, officials and their associates may have received illicit benefits in exchange for allowing the premises where pornographic content was created and distributed to continue operating without police interference. During searches, law enforcement officers seized cash, luxury vehicles, and other property, which is now being examined as part of the proceedings.

It is separately noted that the total amount of seized funds is 22.6 million hryvnias, and the investigation is already working to identify all possible participants in the scheme and their connections.
