The dollar exchange rate hit a new all-time high on June 2

The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the U.S. dollar at 44.3023 UAH per dollar on June 2, marking a new all-time low for the Ukrainian currency.

This was reported on the NBU website.

Over the course of the day, the hryvnia lost more than 3 kopecks, breaking the previous record low, which was set on May 28, 2026, at 44.2996 UAH per dollar.

At the same time, the official hryvnia-to-euro exchange rate also fell. As of June 2, the National Bank set it at 51.5989 UAH per euro, which is 4 kopecks higher than the previous day.

Despite the national currency’s latest weakening against the European currency, the current rate remains below the all-time high of 51.9113 UAH per euro, which was recorded on April 22, 2026.

Overall, since the beginning of 2026, the official hryvnia-to-dollar exchange rate has weakened by 4.6%, whereas for the entire year of 2025, the devaluation amounted to only 0.8%.

Thus, the hryvnia continues to lose ground against major world currencies, and the dollar exchange rate has once again reached a historic high on the interbank and official markets.

Prior to this, the NBU set the official exchange rate for the dollar at 44.26 UAH and for the euro at 51.55 UAH as of June 1, 2026.
