Budanov outlined the conditions for the reburial of Bandera, Petliura, and Skoropadsky

The reburial of prominent Ukrainian political and public figures, including Stepan Bandera, Symon Petliura, and Pavlo Skoropadskyi, will depend on the future law on the National Pantheon of Heroes.

Kirilo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President, noted during the “Security Architecture” forum that no final decision has been made on this matter yet, as the relevant draft law is in its final stages of preparation, according to the Glavkom news portal.

According to the head of the Office of the President, two possible approaches to forming the pantheon are being considered during the drafting of the legislation. The first option involves approving a specific list of historical figures directly in the first appendix to the law, which would allow them to be automatically included in the pantheon once the document takes effect. The alternative approach involves abandoning the initial lists in favor of creating a special commission that, after the law is adopted, will determine in detail which of the prominent figures are worthy of being immortalized. The final mechanism and procedure for the reburial will become clear after work on the draft law is completed and it is subsequently reviewed by members of parliament in the Verkhovna Rada.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially lodged a strong protest over the state reburial ceremony for Andriy Melnyk, one of the leaders of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists.

The remains of OUN leader Andriy Melnyk are being returned to Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence has declassified archives regarding Andriy Melnyk.
