The donor who contributed 666 hryvnias toward Mudriy's bail has been identified
Poet, economist, and public figure Hryhorii Hryshkan stated that he contributed the symbolic 666 hryvnias out of the 20 million needed for the bail of Iryna Mudra, the former deputy head of the Office of the President. He has done the same for other high-profile corrupt officials.
Grishkan announced this on his Facebook page. “Dear attorneys for Iryna Mudriy! I contributed this amount of 666 hryvnias! Please don’t say that it wasn’t from a well-known person!!!” he wrote, posting a screenshot of the payment receipt.
“‘WE’RE ALL SCREWED’—as former Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Mudra recently stated. And you know what? She’s absolutely right. But this phrase doesn’t apply to you and me—it applies to that rotten, corrupt system they’ve been building for years. The High Anti-Corruption Court has just announced its verdict and set an official bail amount for Ms. Mudra for her involvement in the high-profile “Forest Gump” and “Themis” schemes. And while the system counts the next few million that top officials will pull out of their pockets to buy their freedom, I’m taking my own step. My response to the cynicism of those in power is a symbolic transfer of 666 hryvnias as a portion of the bail for Iryna Mudra,” he added.
As of August 27, the bail for Irina Mudra, the former deputy head of the Office of the President—which the court set at 20 million hryvnias—had not yet been paid.
Mudra’s defense team called for a critical assessment of the prosecutor’s statements.
