Exchange rates as of June 4: The dollar, euro, and zloty have fallen in value
The National Bank of Ukraine has released the official exchange rates for Thursday, June 4, 2026.
Compared to the previous banking day, the U.S. dollar, the euro, and the Polish zloty have lost some value.
According to the regulator, the official exchange rates are as follows:
- US dollar – 44.34 UAH;
- euro – 51.52 UAH;
- Polish zloty – 12.15 UAH.
Over the past week, the currency market has shown relative stability.
The US dollar rose by nearly 5 kopecks, indicating a moderate strengthening of the US currency against the hryvnia.
At the same time, the euro fell by 1.7 kopecks, showing a slight correction after its previous rise.
Among the major currencies, the British pound sterling gained the most value, rising by approximately 15 kopecks over the week.
In contrast, the Swiss franc saw the largest decline, losing nearly 8 kopecks.
The Polish zloty also weakened slightly against the hryvnia—its exchange rate fell by about 0.5 kopecks.
In addition to updating exchange rates, the National Bank of Ukraine decided to keep the discount rate at 15% per annum.
The regulator emphasized that it is prepared to employ additional monetary policy tools should inflationary risks intensify.
After a prolonged period of deceleration, inflation in Ukraine has begun to accelerate again.
Among the main reasons, the NBU cites:
- rising energy prices;
- the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure;
- rising fuel prices due to the escalation of the situation in the Middle East;
- the impact of the previous weakening of the hryvnia;
- faster-than-expected wage growth.
Despite this, the regulator notes that the situation in the foreign exchange market remains under control, and the available tools allow for maintaining financial stability and the necessary level of liquidity in the banking system.
This is evidenced by NBU data.
Prior to this, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rates for June 3, 2026. Compared to the previous day, the U.S. dollar, the euro, and the Polish zloty appreciated against the hryvnia.
