Exchange rates as of June 5: The dollar hits a new all-time high

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for June 5, 2026. The U.S. dollar continued to rise, reaching a new record high for the second day in a row. According to the regulator’s data, the dollar exchange rate stands at 44.38 UAH, and the euro at 51.67 UAH. The euro and the Polish zloty also rose slightly in value compared to the previous banking day.

The regulator set the official exchange rate for the dollar at 44.38 UAH, the euro at 51.67 UAH, and the Polish zloty at 12.19 UAH.

Exchange rates as of June 5, 2026

The official hryvnia exchange rate against major world currencies showed a moderate decline over the week. The regulator recorded a slight weakening of the national currency against all key foreign currencies. The U.S. dollar showed relative stability. Over the week, the dollar rose by 11 kopecks, firmly settling above the psychological threshold of 44 UAH. The euro proved to be significantly more volatile than the dollar. The euro exchange rate rose by 23 kopecks, climbing from 51.43 UAH to 51.66 UAH. The British pound led the weekly gains. Its official value increased by 38 kopecks, coming very close to the 60 UAH mark. The Swiss franc followed the general trend of European currencies and gained 26 kopecks in value. Meanwhile, the Polish zloty showed the smallest fluctuation—it rose by only 4.5 kopecks.

The dollar set a new record; exchange rates as of June 5.

The day before, the NBU published the hryvnia exchange rates against foreign currencies as of June 3. The dollar officially rose by 3 kopecks, and the euro by 7 kopecks.

On June 2, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official hryvnia exchange rate against the U.S. dollar at 44.3023 UAH per dollar, marking a new historic low for the Ukrainian currency.

Prior to this, the NBU had set the official exchange rate for the dollar at 44.26 UAH and for the euro at 51.55 UAH as of June 1, 2026.
